17, 18, 19 and 20~ Ready or not here I come…
Who hasn’t played this game at one time or other when you were a kid and even as a parent or grandparent? Everyone is scrambling to run and hide while someone counts, straining to hear each footstep and where it leads. Imagining each person in the game and where their favorite haunts and hiding spots are.
It is a timeless game that offers endless hours of fun, one children never seem to tire of even when all the hiding spots have been used multiple times over.
There is something about the hunt that is inherently born into man and we love those thrill seeking, treasure hunts with a passion. Diving off into the unknown to search for lost treasure, valuable antiquities or lost civilizations. You name if it is lost we will search for it until we have exhausted every resource to find it. Sometimes winning the chase but oftentimes not.
Jesus said “For where you treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 6:21
I find it fascinating to watch people enamored with all sorts of stuff. The variety of interests and passions people pursue is unending. The list varies from Music, the Arts, to Theatre, to Movies, to Gardening, to DIY, to Sports, to Cliff Diving, Hunting, Fishing and on I could go because within the few I have mentioned there are even more complex subcategories and whew you just get pure de ole worn out thinking about it.
It’s mind-boggling the things we have come up with, that we devote hours and hours to. Sadly enough, Jesus rarely makes the list. We fill our lives with everything and anyone we can BUT Jesus. Some people tragically are the mockers, they blank Jesus this and bleep bleep Jesus that, while on the other extreme you will find the sleepers. Ho Hum Jesus who? Leave me alone I’ve got plenty of time.
I heard it said that what you spend the most time on is what you serve, and what you serve is what you worship. Ouch~
The reason I have rambled thus far is to make a point that you have heard about allot lately from crazy ole religious people like myself~
I feel the need to join the crying ranks of those screaming Jesus is coming are you ready?
I feel I need to lift my voice with the few who are sending a rally call to be ready~
The King is coming~
I feel the trembling excitement in the wind and the hover of anticipation in the air. Around me its buzzing with the long awaited arrival of the Lord of all creation.
Of course if you’re not looking and you’re not watching you have no clue what I am talking about.
Jesus said “Therefore be ye also ready: for in an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh” Matthew 24:44
“But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24:37
I know everyone has brought up the fact those in Noah’s day were going about living as if nothing was coming. They lived normal everyday lives. This is so true and it’s a very good point.
Just curious though, have you ever considered that they too were warned repeatedly for over a 100 years that the flood was coming?
It wasn’t like the flood came upon them unaware they had been warned repeatedly, except they hadn’t been listening. They blew Noah off as a cooky old religious nut, radical to the max, as far they were concerned the sooner the boat left shore the better.
Noah tried to tell them it was coming. Yet, when it did come only 8 people out of a highly populated planet made it on the boat.
Why is that?
Wasn’t anybody listening at all?
Considering, weighing the possibilities, counting the what if he’s right? Apparently and tragically not.
There is also the parable Jesus told about the ten virgins and this story really fascinates me because I can’t wrap my mind around all that He is saying, but I do feel some elemental truths are blatant within the passages. Matthew 25:1-13
I won’t type it all out it will give you some good reading and studying time with the Lord.
The one thing I want to take away from it today is the one verse, verse 5; While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Then you have the virgins, all of them are slumbering and sleeping. Unless we are outright deniers of Jesus and mockers of the cross I don’t think we fit category one.
We could nicely fit in category two because isn’t living life as it has always been akin to slumbering and eventually causes us to fall asleep from the sheer monotony of it all?
The fact that it is the Holy Spirit and nothing of ourselves is what gives us hope otherwise we would be like all the rest of the characters I mentioned.
The point I am trying to make is that Jesus is coming, whether you are ready or not. You can party the time away or you can sleep it away but He is coming.
The question is are you ready? Is it really worth the party time or the good sleep to not know when He steps through the Eastern sky to gather the bride?
Evidently it is so because I watch countless people live their lives as if nothing is coming down the road that will force them to wake up. Living the American dream that no longer exist.
If the conspiracies don’t have you awake at night then surely the countless streams of media clips of terrorist brutality and murdering around the world would.
Clearly its all unfolding just as Jesus said it would!
Wake up people, wake up my friends, my neighbors, my coworkers, this is not a game, not a test, not a drill. This is the real deal. Jesus is coming He is not delaying, He is not waiting, He is not biding His time. The gong has already been sounding for those with ears to ear.
My heart cries out for you, honestly I am down right terrified for you. Missing Jesus coming is far worse than losing your life at the hands of terrorist or worse. You are losing eternal life. That terrifies me for you. What can I say to convince you that He loves you, that Jesus died once, for all sins, yours, mine, the entire world? You don’t have to die in your sins. You don’t have to miss the greatest homecoming ever. You can be saved if you want to be saved.
Romans 10:9,10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. vs. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Please I beg of you forget what everyone is telling you about anything else and listen to the Lord Himself call your name. Don’t hide yourself so well that you get overlooked and then you are left behind.
Don’t be so confident that you have everything you need in life and forget the one thing you can’t live without. That is Jesus Himself.
Jesus has pursued us relentlessly since the beginning of time but soon time will be up and either you accepted Him or you did not…
17, 18, 19 and 20~
Ready or not Here He comes…
Eternity is an awfully long time to wish you had said yes~
I’m hid with Christ~
