As we are in the midst of honoring those who gave their lives on battlefields foreign and domestic, my heart is drawn to the unsung heroes. Heroes who gave no less and sacrificed their all.
Their battles long overlooked and lacking applause are fought in realms we cannot begin to imagine.
It is to these heroes, these fallen warriors I pause today and remind myself that without their sacrifices a cause greater than all of us would go unnoticed.
These heroes, these sacrificing individuals gave their lives on the battlefields of truth and righteousness. They marched triumphantly to their death without so much as a grain of fear. They counted the cause worth giving their all for.
I could only hope to be so brave and willing.
These unsung heroes who with clear eyes and a righteous heart stood proudly before their accusers, never faltering, never fearing. They trusted in the one who is faithful, the one whose life meant more than their own.
As each was given the opportunity to recant, to confess their error, they bravely and clearly said no. As each one passed through the fires of their tormentors they counted Him faithful who promised.
They received an award much greater and worth more than their own lives.
It’s to these unsung heroes of faith that I bow my head in gratefulness and awe. There is no honor greater than those who march through enemies camps and proclaim boldly, proudly that yes, Jesus is Lord.
So today as I ponder the ones who gave their lives on the battlefields of war and terror, I also give thanks to the ones who gave their lives for the cause of Christ. Their battles no less important and no less worthy.
I stand with all the angels of Glory as the Father pronounces them good and faithful servants. Who gives them a crown of righteousness that will never fade.
I can only pray that my faith be as strong, my heart as true should I be called upon to give an answer.
It is with great honor and great respect I humbly give all those who’ve gone before me a moment to remember their courage, their love and their commitment to Christ.
They stayed true, they finished their race well and God was glorified.
What greater love is there? What greater mark could a man, woman or child leave?
And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

Today as you honor those who have fallen on the battlefields of war and terror, remember also those who have died and are even dying as I write this.
These also deserve our gratitude our thanks.
The cause of Christ marches on and Truth will have its day. Choose this day whom you serve. There is coming a day that we too will have to answer for this cause we claim to believe.
What will your answer be? Will you hold your head high, steady and march willingly to the enemies camp? Will you strengthen your resolve and clearly and boldly proclaim Jesus is Lord?
Somewhere today around the world people are being forced to answer this very question. Somewhere a dad, mom or child is giving their lives for the faith. The least we can do is pray for them, the best thing we can do is rejoice with them.
So today on this day of remembering our fallen heroes, I bow my head with gratefulness that I can’t describe and I honor those willing to give their lives on the battlefields of Truth and Righteousness.
You are truly worthy of the title you wear. Faithful unto the end, martyrs to the One who is forever Faithful and True.
You are my heroes…
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
